I've been going through old video tapes and photos for years. I'm the "go to guy" for that kinda thing among my family and friends. Because of this, I've collected some pretty good scanning hardware, and some solid methods for getting great results. Why not offer my services to others?
It's easy to get caught up in nostalgia, most of the time when you don't plan to. You're cleaning, and you run across a box with memories that ruins that good intention of cleaning you had.
Digitizing those memories means that there's no unplanned box to go through. Videos and photos will be on a server, accessible from all of your devices, where you can share it with family and watch it whenever you want.
$20 per tape
VHS, Hi8, 8mm, VHS-C, and HDV (sorry, no BetaMax) are the formats I can work with. Digitizing and upscaling them to 1080p.
$20 per 50 photos
Scanning Photos is pretty straight forward. 600dpi is recommended for most, but 1200dpi can be done if you have BIG plans for your images.
$20 per tape
Audio Cassettes can pose a lot of problems when they get old. Playback speed and muffled audio are among the worst. Once I get it into digital format I can attempt to improve these issues.
$20 per 25 items
35mm negatives and slides? I can do that.
$20 per reel
8mm or Super8 are the formats I can handle. The machine I use takes a photo of every frame of the film and assembles them into a new 720p digital video file!
$20 per 30 min of work
Sometimes a video capture or a scan needs a bit of extra help to look its best. This is where some extra software and a little AI for upscaling happens.
